Mother Goose in Prose edition by L Frank Lyman Frank Baum Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

  • This wonderful collection of short stories by Frank Baum is another delightful addition to anyone who is a fan of his work. Based on famous Mother Goose rhymes, all stories are fascinating background tales of the various characters involved. I always get pleasure from reading these, as the author's imagination knows no bounds.
  • Great
  • I have a Nook, so I had to get a for PC to be able to read these books... glad I did... I read the first story in this book, about the little boy who lived with his aunt and uncle, and took a sixpense to leave and not return... Sing a Song of Sixpense... I had never heard this version, I think I will love this book!! can't wait to read the rest of the stories!!! -)
  • Time is the essence of rhyme
Prose for those who labors have forsaken.
Little stories to stretch the imagination,
    With bookmarks within the pagination!
  • This is an excellent book with stories to back up the origional nursery rhymes. It is very interesting and fun to read to youngsters.
  • No pictures in this edition, and about a quarter of the stories are outdated enough that I wouldn't want a kid to read them.
  • If you remember and loved the nursery rhymes then you will love the stories as much as I do. My favorite is Pussy-cat Mew! I can't wait to visit my grandsons and read these stories to them!
  • Is it still mother goose? Not to me. Jack is fast and is jumping carefully over the flame but without the rhyme it is not as fun.
